The physiotherapist Lorenzo del Pozo, a former student at Camilo José Cela University, has returned to Sporting de Gijón seven years after leaving the Asturian club to form part of Luis Enrique’s coaching staff for the Spanish football team.
Del Pozo, who studied the bachelor’s degree in Physical Activity Sciences at Camilo José Cela University, has returned to Sporting to coordinate the Department of Applied Sports Sciences. Before joining the Gijón team in 2005, he had already worked at Gijón Basketball during the team’s stage in the ACB League.
After leaving Sporting de Gijón in 2015, Lorenzo del Pozo began a new stage as a physical trainer at the Aragón Alpine Ski Modernization Centre. Later he joined the first Spanish football squad as a retrainer. In addition, he is one of the few Spanish specialists in equine recovery, thanks to which he has worked with different Olympic riders, both from Spain and abroad.
